Vintage Indigo Check Cotton with Mend

A vintage Japanese indigo cotton piece featuring a woven check design in indigo blue and natural white. Originally part of an old futon cover, it shows years of use and has been repaired in several areas with pieces of old indigo cotton.

Some of the worn areas and holes reveal the contrasting repair fabrics underneath, including striped and kasuri cottons. The reverse shows larger pieces of cloth that were hand stitched in place to reinforce the damaged areas. 

It is in well-used vintage condition with repairs, holes and areas of wear. It has been washed and is ready to use.
